The power of music and film

Vinyl began to die out in the early nineties when newer formats gained more ground but 20 years later vinyl once again reins king over the physical formats.

This year vinyl record sales have been the only physical music medium that has had increasing sales where as other formats like CD’s have continued to decline.

The trend is worldwide with the USA seeing a massive increase. In 2013 there were over six million records sold in the USA compared to 900,000 in 2006.

Back in June earlier this year musician Jack White released his album, Lazaretto, which sold over 40,000 copies on vinyl. These sales had the highest number of vinyl’s sold in one week since 1991.
